London, England’s capital, set on the River Thames, is a 21st-century city with history stretching back to Roman times. At its centre stand the imposing Houses of Parliament, the iconic ‘Big Ben’ clock tower and Westminster Abbey, site of British monarch coronations. Across the Thames, the London Eye observation wheel provides panoramic views of the South Bank cultural complex, and the entire city. Planning a trip to London? Why not bring your dog?

Bringing a dog to London is probably the last thing you would dream of doing, but once you are in ‘the know’, London can be a truly dog friendly capital. Many London hotels are dog friendly and some offer special facilities for your pooch such as beds, bowls and doggie meals. Some will arrange dog sitters if you want an evening out without your four legged friend. There are masses of beautiful walks within the city, and parks where your dog can run off the lead plus you have the added advantage of being able to take in many of the sights at the same time. Dogs are welcome in most of London's parks and green spaces as long as they are kept under control and you clean up after them. However, most London attractions, bars and shops do not admit animals (except assistance dogs).
