Mean Daily Maximum Temperature taken at Green Cape Lighthouse just south of Eden ranges from 22°C in February to 14.4°C in July, with its temperate climate, pristine beaches and unspoiled surrounding State and National Parks, Merimbula is an ideal location for the perfect holiday or sea change.The surrounding hinterland has superb bushwalks with marked trails. The natural forests burst into bloom in spring with abundant native flora. Bournda National Park, which brackets Merimbula Lake, is a haven for birds and for the kangaroos and wallabies that graze on its shores. Nearby, Tathra and Eden are well worth a visit.
Bega is a lovely regional town surrounded by lush rolling pastures grazed by dairy cows, which produce the cheese and dairy products for which the town is renowned. Bermagui is a small picturesque fishing village with a wonderful main street that overlooks the harbour. Bermagui is the closest port to the continental shelf which provides a fantastic range of fresh seafood products for the concerning connoisseur. If it is art and craft you desire, you must visit Cobargo. Artisans produce and and sell their pottery, leatherwork and woodcraft in the plethora of heritage buildings that adorn the quirky mainstreet.
